I have just returned from studying with Odd Nerdrum. Most amazing experience of my life. My husband and I were there for 2 months. We stayed on his farm, spent Christams with him and his family.  I'll be putting pictures of some of my work very soon.
  • Listening to: the annoying background static of the TV
  • Eating: almonds and chocolate
  • Drinking: Coffee

It was so great. Odd is an amazing person as well as painter. We also made some great friends while we were there.
I looked at your new paintings on your page. The color and compositions are strickingly beautiful.

I went to your website, what a remarkable life you are leading. I read that you do workshops, I'm interested.
Your paintings evoke such emotion and spirituallity.

Odd Nerdrum is an amazing human being. Very insightful, very funny, he's a good cook too. He paints everyday without fail. His knoweledge of paint and texture is impressive. What he does with 3 colors and glazing is hard to describe. He is always looking to improve his paintings (and he does improve which is something I didn't think possible because he's already perfect). He says we need to find balance, his paintings offer great tragedy and hope at the same time. One of my most remarkable experiences there was when he came into the student kitchen and ask whos watercolor pallet was sitting on the table. I told him it was mine and he said he would trade me one of his used pallets, that he would sign, for mine, that I would sign. So we did. He also framed one of my paintings and one of my husbands self portraits. His farm will be a museum eventually. I never thought this could happen for me, totally amazing.
He has converted a barn into a student studio. Thats where we stayed. It was very cold there. Just an amazing experience! Odd and his family are very kind.

What a wonderful thing to hear! Did I see your husbands portrait online too? He is a painter also?

I love to read that Odd was so kind and warm.

How did you accomplish this? Was it a special program? An ongoing opportunity? A private invitation?

More details! I would love to read so much more about your adventure!

Sorry for such a delayed response! My husband is Brad Wilde. We sent a letter and samples of our paintings drawings etc.. and Odd let us know when we could come.
Are you currently showing your paintings? Brad and I would love to see them in person, We're pretty close to LA, about 45 minutes east of you.
We are trying to figure out how to get our paintings in galleries right now.
talk to you soon
